This is the unconventional gas extraction in Ukraine \u00a0(shale gas and condensed sandstone gas).<\/p>\n<p>The extraction of unconventional gas deposits by hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is an extremely dangerous operation that threatens with strategic reserve of drinking water\u00a0contamination\u00a0in densely populated regions of Ukraine. In addition, the existing technology, engineering and geological conditions do not allow to extract unconventional gas deposits at a price lower than traditional gas extraction.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the significant challenges because of hydraulic fracturing technology and existing anthropogenic impact on the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region we ask you, within your competence, \u00a0to support the initiative of\u00a0environmental society\u00a0and to help in legal establishing a\u00a0status of a\u00a0free from\u00a0unconventional gas deposits extraction by fracking\u00a0zone for the\u00a0Dnipropetrovsk region.
